ENGLISH TRANSLATION Louise Harrison, older sister of the iconic guitarist of the Beatles, George Harrison, will return to the island. Louise related to us that she was the unique one in the family who was interested in the artistic talents of her brother. "I am the only girl, I have three brothers including a George. I lived in New York when he reached fame with the Beatles. When they always arrived at the United States I was active in helping much as much as the group,” Harrison affirms in an exclusive interview with El Expresso. In the interview, Louise related that the first time they went to the Ed Sullivan show, George was very ill and the doctors advised to him not to speak so as not to hurt his voice. "When not being able to participate in the interviews with the reporters, George was described as the ‘Quiet Beatle’." Although immediately clarified, “In truth, this was not the case." Later, and after the death of George, Louise counts: "I met Marty Scott who portrayed my brother in a tribute band and began with the idea to create a band that would pay true tribute to the Beatles. They considered many talented people who not only had to play and sing like The Beatles, but they had to look like them as well. It is well difficult to create something that makes honor to such a famous group as The Beatles. The responsibility of not shaming the personal family side while, on the other hand, giving honor to my brother created great commitment in Louise to organize what now is known as “Liverpool Legends”. “They are considered to be one of the best Beatles tribute shows," stated Louise. In Branson, Missouri, where Louise resides, the band has won several awards including Best New Band and Best Show in 2006. The Liverpool Legends is deserving of their triumphs and have the direct support of Louise Harrison. At any concert, the age range of the attendees is very diverse. "I have seen people of 85 years along with children of only a year enjoying music and dancing. It is wonderful to see that age or the race doesn’t matter. It is the music and the message of the songs of the Beatles that is universal. It is a message of love, respect and tolerance," states Louise. Without doubt, these messages are what keep the spirit and the music of the Beatles alive. As Louise Harrison says, "This way I continue being with my brother." |
